About Me
I am a Principal Investigator at IDLab, imec and Principal Research Fellow at University of Antwerp, Belgium, where I lead the Low-Power Research Portfolio in the Perceptive Radio Systems program. Before joining academia, I worked in industrial research at LG Electronics Research in Seoul, South Korea, and TCS Research & Innovation in India. I obtained my PhD in Applied Engineering from the University of Antwerp, focusing on energy-efficient wireless communication and networking. I am also a Senior Member of IEEE.
Currently, my research interests are in Ambient IoT, energy-neutral and zero-energy devices, embedded intelligence, TinyML/TinyOL, energy harvesting, and ultra-low-power wireless communication. I am particularly interested in how highly energy-constrained devices can adapt their sensing, computing, learning, and communication to available energy, and how such devices can become an integral part of future 6G networks.
